Why Am I Seeing ‘your Connection is Not Private’ When Attempting to Access Ambiki?
- If you are using a Mac, receiving this message is likely due to using an older Operating System (Mac OS)
- A commonly used root security certificate expired for many Mac Operating Systems in September 2021
- This security certificate has been updated in later Mac OS versions yet not to any version prior to 10.12.1
- This does not mean the Ambiki site is unsafe, rather, the user’s operating system may need to be updated
- El Capitan (or any version of Mac OS X prior to 10.12.1) will most likely demonstrate this ‘not secure’ message both in the hyperlink and upon entry to the site
