Summary by Persona (Grouped by Role)

👩‍⚕️ Clinicians / Therapists

  • Staff can choose their default Patients tab, therapists will only see document types appropriate for their credentials, and patient details can appear in document footers when enabled by an admin.

🧑‍💼 Admins

  • Admins can choose a default Patients tab, configure patient information in document footers, see clearer handling of payments from closed Stripe accounts, and view payer information on treatment reports.

💳 Billers / Guardians

  • Billers: Billers can add patient information to document footers when configured and see the payer for each service on treatment reports and Excel exports.

  • Guardians/Patients: No direct changes.

🚀 New Feature - Choose Your Default Patients Tab

👥 Audience: All staff users

🛠️ Steps to Access: Open the Patients page, pick a tab, and click "Set as default tab" at the top of the patient list. No permissions or feature flags required.

📢 What's new?: You can now choose which patients tab opens when you click Patients in the left menu. For example, set the Active tab as your default to go straight to the patients you see regularly. Each team member can pick their own default, and you can switch back to All at any time.

🛠️ Fix - Document Types Match Student and Assistant Credentials

👥 Audience: Therapists, Admins

❗ Issue: Users with a Student credential alongside an assistant credential could be offered document types for disciplines they are not meant to write for.

✅ Action Steps: None.

🚀 New Feature - Show Patient Information in Document Footers

👥 Audience: Admins, billing staff

🛠️ Steps to Access: Organization settings → EMR settings → Print settings → check "Show the patient's name, date of birth, and date of service in the footer of every page"

📢 What's new?: You can now choose to show the patient's name, date of birth, and date of service in the footer of every page of visit notes, evaluations, assessments, plans of care, and discharge documents. This helps practices whose payers require patient information on every page of submitted documentation. It applies to documents you have already signed as well as new ones, so there is nothing to regenerate.

🛠️ Fix - Clearer Handling of Payments from Previous Stripe Accounts

👥 Audience: Admins

❗ Issue: After a practice's Stripe account was closed and replaced with a new one, older payments could show confusing options that no longer worked.

✅ Action Steps: Payments made on a previous Stripe account are now clearly marked and can no longer be refunded or changed inside Ambiki. Newer payments on your current account are unaffected.

🚀 New Feature - Payer Column Added to Treatment Reports

👥 Audience: Billers, Admins

🛠️ Steps to Access: If you've customised your columns before, open the column picker and tick Payer — it's marked "New". Otherwise it appears on its own.

📢 What's new?: Treatment reports and Treatment report services now have a Payer column, so you can see who each service was billed to and include it in your Excel export.

Thank you for choosing Ambiki.
