We’d like to turn the spotlight on Abeid Ahmed. Abeid is a Developer at Ambiki who hails from the land of Darjeeling in India (although he enjoys frequent trips to Dubai, UAE). He is hardworking and compassionate and always meets the challenge put in front of him. Abeid seems happiest when he starts to solve a problem that previously stumped him.

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I live in Kalimpong, India, which is a beautiful hill-town situated ~70kms (45 miles) from Siliguri. Although I am from Kalimpong, there it is different in so many ways that I still have many things to explore. Kalimpong is famous for Darjeeling tea.

Tell us a little about what you did before joining the Ambiki team!

I used to teach Agriculture related subjects to high-school students.

What led you to software development?

When I used to teach high school students, I saw some of my colleagues writing software for the school admission process. I was so fascinated by the process that I immediately asked them where I could start learning more about software. Since then, I’ve been learning more and more about software and I don’t plan to stop learning anywhere in the near future.

Where did you go to school and what did you study?

Shri Guru Ram Ra University in Dehradun, India. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like botany and gardening.

How long have you been a part of Ambiki? What do you do?

I joined Ambiki in November 2021 as a Junior Developer. Since then, I’ve been a part of multiple projects including Schedule, Teletherapy, Testimonials, etc. Nowadays, I work full-time on teletherapy and the scheduling tool.

What do you love most about Ambiki?

Working at Ambiki is peaceful, calm and at the same time it’s exciting. Getting an opportunity to help improve people’s lives at this scale has always been my dream and getting an opportunity to make that dream come true has been empowering.

What is something you learned about therapy as it relates to technology that you did not know before?

Clinical jargon to be honest.
