Abeid Ahmed

Hi, I’m Abeid Ahmed, a BSc Agriculture graduate and a software engineer based in India. Previously I worked as an Asst. Teacher in one of the schools in my city. It was at this point that I saw some of my colleagues dabbling around with JavaScript (from what I can infer now). They were building a student admission form with all the cool validations and I just kept staring at the screen thinking to myself that this is the “thing” that I wanted to do.

I immediately consulted with my colleagues and they were kind enough to help me navigate the path initially. I started learning HTML and CSS and continued building small projects after work. I was so fascinated with what I could do with code, I just kept learning and building projects. By the time I realized how far I’d come, I had Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, VueJs, and StimulusJs in my backpack.

Fast forward 3 years, and I am still motivated in learning new technologies, trying out different approaches as I had when I had just started.

In my free time, I like to contribute to open-source software and have made multiple contributions to Ruby on Rails, “Primer CSS” by GitHub, and more. I am also the author of 2 ruby gems which are being used by hundreds of other Ruby on Rails developers.
