When adding a resource, activity list, or goal to Ambiki's goal bank you will need to choose a license. If you intend for the content to remain private to you (which it is by default), you do not need to take too much care in choosing the license. If you plan to make the content public, the license determines how other therapists can make use of your content.

The majority of licenses will not effect how your content is displayed or accessible on Ambiki (it serves merely as a guide to the consumer of your content so that they know what they can and can not do with it). The exceptions are:
- Ambiki License - © Ambitious Idea Labs 1.0 (AL)
- This is for content that Ambiki owns and requires an Essential subscription to download/view/use in teletherapy.
- No License 1.0 (NL)
- Other users will not be able to download resources that have this license. However, they will be able to make use of them on the teletherapy platform.

Definitions and Terminology
- BY: attribution required
- NC: no commercial use
- ND: no derivative works
- SA: Share Alike - the license must be the same on any derivative works
Attribution 4.0 (CC BY)
This license lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered. Recommended for maximum dissemination and use of licensed materials.
Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA)
This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to “copyleft” free and open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use. This is the license used by Wikipedia, and is recommended for materials that would benefit from incorporating content from Wikipedia and similarly licensed projects.
Attribution NoDerivs 4.0 (CC BY-ND)
This license allows for redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to you.
Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC)
This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.
Attribution NonCommercial ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-NC-SA)
This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms.
Attribution NonCommercial NoDerivs 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND)
This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially.
No License 1.0 (NL)
The work may not be downloaded or copied.
