What is a click beacon?
The click beacon is a safe and secure way to make resource and screen sharing more interactive.
  • Therapists can use the Click Beacon whenever they are sharing their screen, or a resource.
  • During teletherapy, when the patient clicks or touches a touchscreen, the therapist is able to see where the patient has clicked.
  • The patient does not actually make the selection which keeps the environment HIPAA compliant and prevents the patient from making selections on the therapist's desktop.
  • To a patient, the click beacon appears to actually 'control' the therapist's computer and screen. For therapists, see exactly where a patient clicked without granting them access to your computer.

How is a click beacon better than giving a patient access to my computer?
Ambiki's Click Beacon allows therapists to share their screen and visually see where on their screen the patient clicks - without actually granting the patient access to your computer or screen. For example, imagine you have two letters on the screen: A and B. You ask the patient to click on "B". You'll be able to instantly see if they clicked the correct one. This feature gives you the benefits of interaction while preserving the safety and security of the private data stored on your computer and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Does what I share have to have clickable links?
No, since the patient is not actually clicking on the therapist's screen, the therapist can screen share or use any resource with the click beacon, regardless of if it has a clickable link.

Will the patients' click trigger an action?
No, none of the patient's clicks will trigger an action. The Click Beacon will only show you where they are clicking and will not allow them access to your desktop or have any resulting actions.

What happens if the child is too eager when clicking? Can I take the click beacon ability away?
The click beacon can be disabled or locked when using a PDF resource. The lock button can be found in the upper right hand corner of the resource.

How will I know which patient is clicking where in a group teletherapy setting?
In group sessions, each patient has their own color-coded click beacon so you can see which click corresponds to which patient. The patient's name will also appear next to the place they have just clicked.
