S, S Blend, L and L Blend Sentences AWP Without VL Th or Z
Description
These sentences were created for a specific middle school client with /s, l/, /s/blend and /l/blend goals at sentence level, who also presented with distortions of voiceless /th/ and /z/. The sentences contain a variety of /s, l/, s-blend and l-blend words in all word positions, WITHOUT including the other difficult targets (voiceless /th/ and /z/), which were intentionally left out. Each sentence lists the number of times the /s/ and /l/ targets appear in each sentence (with significantly more /s/ targets) to make therapy planning and data collection easier.
Strategies and techniques
Have your client read each sentence xx times while you take data - either on your own paper copy or electronically. It can also be used in teletherapy by sharing the resource with your client on-screen while you make plus/minus marks above each word on your sheet or electronically. Because the number of times each target appears in the sentence is noted after each sentence, you can decide how many total trials of /s/ and/or /l/ you plan to target by selecting certain sentences. Target just /s/ and /s/blends, just /l/ and /l/blends, or both at once, depending on your client's progress.
