Discovery Engine

Learn how Ambiki's Discovery Engine can empower you and make your job as a therapist easier

Have you ever had a conversation with a friend about something and halfway through realized you were talking about the same thing? Just using different words? When it’s your friend, you keep talking until you figure it out but when it’s someone at work (or someone you’re intimidated by), it isn’t as easy to break through the jargon.

The conversation with your friend will be funny when you figure it out. The conversation with your coworker or that super-smart clinician in another discipline may just leave you unsatisfied. Or maybe confused?

The team at Ambitious Idea Labs dreams about efficiency.

We believe having a shared language will better serve us all. It will allow us -- and you when you tag something on the site -- to recommend the best resource, the best goal, the best therapy activity, heck even the best therapist for any given situation. As you peruse the site, you'll notice our shared terminology, our taxonomy, throughout the site.

Taxonomy is fancy word for categorization. We’ve taken a first step at curating the major and minor areas of feeding, occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Through games, one-on-one interviews, years of observing and refining tagging in an intranet/EMR, we’ve worked with hundreds of therapists, from each discipline, to determine this first draft of the taxonomy.

Taxonomy

Is it perfect?

Absolutely not. But as we grow, evolve, and learn more about each other and the latest EBP (evidence-based practice), we’ll thoughtfully adjust it to help you find just what you are looking for, just when you need it.

Our discovery engine will make recommendations to you based on that taxonomy. The shared terminology is consistent across professionals, therapy tools, materials, goals, and reference links; really just about everything on Ambiki.

TL;DR:

Taxonomy makes discoverability easier. Taxonomy will enable advanced suggestions and recommendations, to make the therapist’s job easier and ultimately make better connections between those that need services and those who provide that service. No other competitor has in-depth, curated taxonomy as complete as ours.
